NEW CITY CATECHISM #33

For the week starting August 14.

Question: Should those who have faith in Christ seek their salvation through their own works, or anywhere else?

Answer: No, they should not, as everything necessary to salvation is found in Christ. To seek salvation through good works is a denial that Christ is the only Redeemer and Savior.

Scripture Memory Verse: Galatians 2:16

CORPORATE WORSHIP SONGS

Here are the songs we will be singing together this Sunday:

  1. All Creatures Of Our God And King (Lasst Uns Erfreuen)

  2. O Praise The Name (Anástasis)

  3. Mercy

  4. Behold The Throne Of God

  5. In Christ Alone

DEACON NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN

Our Deacon Nomination Form is now open for member submissions; please be sure to submit your nominations by the end of August. In this season two specific areas of service are available: Finance and Member Care. With the Finance nomination we strongly advise you recommend someone from the Finance Committee.

It’s been said Elders serve the church in their leading while Deacons lead the church in their serving. We ask for your help submitting names of men or women you recognize as leading in their service within these three areas of need. If you would like more information on the office of deacon here are some resources:
