There are many opportunities available to serve the family and visitors of HRF on Sunday mornings and serving is a great way to get connected and build relationships with your fellow members.
The Audio Visual (A/V) team is open to all members of HRF who have an interest in the audio and video needs at HRF. General responsibilities for this area of service includes running cables, adjusting slides for song lyrics, controlling microphone and instrument volumes, and recording the sermon.
If you are interested in serving in the Facilities Team, please fill out this questionnaire to help us know areas you are skilled in regarding various facilities needs.
The Finance team exists to help steward the resources that the Lord gives to this church through His people. While this stewardship exists in several different ways, one of the main ways is to manage the giving that is received on Sunday mornings. After service, the offering will be collected and counted by members of the finance team that serve weekly on a rotating basis. We're thankful to the Lord for His great gifts and count it a privilege to serve the body in this manner.
HRF Kids is the children's ministry at Hampton Roads Fellowship. Our goal is to create a loving, fun, and safe environment in which children are able to learn about the character of God, discover biblical truth, and learn what it means to follow Christ. We currently have four classrooms for ages 6 weeks up to Kindergarten. There are many opportunities for members to serve in HRF Kids such as teaching in the classrooms, caring for children of parents serving on a ministry team before the service, helping with check-in and shut down, or with cleaning toys and classrooms.
Our desire is to insure that by the time someone walks through our doors, whether a member or first time visitor, they are guaranteed a smile, a kind word, and eye contact with someone who notices that they are a part of our worship that day. Greeters are placed at each entrance of the Sanctuary before service. Distribute bulletins and greet. Arriving 30 minutes early (but you can still attend the service for which you are greeting). Set the tone by initiating conversation and making people feel comfortable.
The Worship Team is open to those who would like to serve HRF in musicianship. The worship team is not a band or a performance mechanism for HRF, but a group of people who can help lead the way for corporate singing - a command that the Bible gives every Christian to do. The worship team is always looking for capable singers and musicians to help lead our corporate gathering in song. The worship team meets weekly for rehearsal at 7PM on Thursdays.
