HRF Weekly Update - September 1, 2019

CORPORATE WORSHIP

This Sunday, September 1, 2019, Elder Rob Gouge will be preaching from Acts 21:1-16 . Here is the order of service for this Sunday which includes the songs we will be singing together.

We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.

HRF INSTITUTE

This Sunday, we will be finishing our series on the Spiritual Disciplines. Jonathan Rivera will be teaching on the “Spiritual Discipline of Prayer - Part 2”.

Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!

NEW CITY CATECHISM #35

Question: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through faith alone, where does this faith come from?

Answer: All the gifts we receive from Christ we receive through the Holy Spirit, including faith itself.

NEW CITY CATECHISM #34

Question: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God’s Word?

Answer: Yes, because Christ, having redeemed us by his blood, also renews us by his Spirit; so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; so that we may be assured of our faith by the fruits; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

HRF BUILDING CLEAN UP & PAINTING

HRF is moving to its new church home and we need your help! Below are the dates and time slots that we are asking members to come to the new church building to help with whatever projects are being worked on that particular day. This can include moving items and furniture, painting rooms, cleaning, etc.

Please take a moment and sign up for as many dates and time slot that you can commit to. You do not need to be there for the entire time slot, but if your name is listed during that slot, we will assume you will be there during that time period. When you arrive, please enter the church building from the parking lot entrance. There will be only one door unlocked. If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Kambic at 434-760-4005‬.

NEW CITY CATECHISM #33

Question: Should those who have faith in Christ seek their salvation through their own works, or anywhere else?

Answer: No, they should not, as everything necessary to salvation is found in Christ. To seek salvation through good works is a denial that Christ is the only Redeemer and Savior.
