NEW CITY CATECHISM #33

Question: Should those who have faith in Christ seek their salvation through their own works, or anywhere else?

Answer: No, they should not, as everything necessary to salvation is found in Christ. To seek salvation through good works is a denial that Christ is the only Redeemer and Savior.

Scripture Memory Verse: Galatians 2:16.

WEEKLY DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES

HRF BUILDING CLEAN UP & PAINTING

HRF is moving to its new church home and we need your help! Below are the dates and time slots that we are asking members to come to the new church building to help with whatever projects are being worked on that particular day. This can include moving items and furniture, painting rooms, cleaning, etc.

Please take a moment and sign up for as many dates and time slot that you can commit to. You do not need to be there for the entire time slot, but if your name is listed during that slot, we will assume you will be there during that time period. When you arrive, please enter the church building from the parking lot entrance. There will be only one door unlocked. If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Kambic at 434-760-4005‬.

You can signup for slots here.

NEW CITY CATECHISM #31

Question: What do we believe by true faith?

Answer: Everything taught to us in the gospel. The Apostles’ Creed expresses what we believe in these words: We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Scripture Memory Verse: Jude 3
