This Sunday, July 21, 2019, Asquith Thompson will be preaching from Acts 19:1-10. We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.
Here are the songs we will be singing together this Sunday:
The Gospel Song
See the Destined Day Arise
My Worth is Not in What I Own
How Deep the Father’s Love For Us
Lord From Sorrows Deep I Call
This Sunday, we continue our classes on the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. This week, we will look at “Stewardship.”
Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
NEW CITY CATECHISM #29
Question: How can we be saved?
Answer: Only by faith in Jesus Christ and in his substitutionary atoning death on the cross; so even though we are guilty of having disobeyed God and are still inclined to all evil, nevertheless, God, without any merit of our own but only by pure grace, imputes to us the perfect righteousness of Christ when we repent and believe in him.
Scripture Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:8–9.
WEEKLY DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES
Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.
How Do I Pursue a Discipling Relationship in My Church? - It’s both a privilege and a joy to know that God is making us like his Son. And it is his tender and loving gesture to give us help along the way.
Why Nothing on Earth Will Satisfy - When nothing on earth satisfies, what do we do? We look above the earth. We look to God, which is precisely what God intended. He created us with desires so big that they can be fulfilled only in him.
The Most Radical Mission For Christians May Be The Most Mundane - There are many “ordinary” ways to be ambassadors of the extraordinary gospel, but none more important than building up the body of Christ by committing to a local church, however “boring” it may seem.
Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
SUPPORT THE HRF BUILDING FUND
Hampton Roads Fellowship was recently blessed with the opportunity of being gifted a church building for our congregation. Would you help us raise the necessary funds to be able to make this building our new church home?
You can learn more about the HRF Building Fund here.
HRF FAMILY NIGHT - NORFOLK TIDES GAME
Please join us on Friday, August 2nd, at 7:00 PM for HRF Family Night at the Norfolk Tides Baseball Game!
We have reserved the picnic area and will be having an in-game dinner consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, sides, desserts, and drinks. HRF will cover some of the cost, so the price per person is only $20, which includes a reserved seat at the game and dinner. For those that are on a tight budget, you can choose to pay at least $10 and HRF will cover the balance. Children under that age of 2 are FREE. Parking is $6 and paid when you arrive.
