This Sunday, July 14, 2019, Pastor Tony will be preaching from Acts 18:18-28. We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.
Here are the songs we will be singing together this Sunday:
How Great Thou Art
Ever Living God
Who You Say I Am
Be Thou My Vision
Your Glory (Nothing But the Blood)
This Sunday, we continue our classes on the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. This week, we will look at “Serving.”
Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
NEW CITY CATECHISM #28
Question: What happens after death to those not united to Christ by faith?
Answer: At the day of judgment they will receive the fearful but just sentence of condemnation pronounced against them. They will be cast out from the favorable presence of God, into hell, to be justly and grievously punished, forever.
Scripture Memory Verse: John 3:16–18, 36.
WEEKLY DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES
Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.
Legalism and Consistent Spiritual Habits: Not the Same - Satan is a thief and he will use legalism to steal, kill and destroy life as often as he can. That said, please consider this warning: Satan can also use a false definition of legalism to keep us from consistently engaging the habits that lead to life.
4 Ways to Read the Bible for Personal Application - Learning to wisely apply the harder, less relevant passages has a surprising benefit. Your whole Bible “applies personally.” This Lord is your God; this history is your history; these people are your people; this Savior has brought you in to participate in who he is and what he does.
Five Ways Congregational Worship Shapes Us - All of life is worship, but God has uniquely suited corporate worship to shape us as a church. Here are five ways congregational worship shapes our lives.
Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
SUPPORT THE HRF BUILDING FUND
Hampton Roads Fellowship was recently blessed with the opportunity of being gifted a church building for our congregation. Would you help us raise the necessary funds to be able to make this building our new church home?
You can learn more about the HRF Building Fund here.
HRF FAMILY NIGHT - NORFOLK TIDES GAME
Please join us on Friday, August 2nd, at 7:00 PM for HRF Family Night at the Norfolk Tides Baseball Game!
We have reserved the picnic area and will be having an in-game dinner consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, sides, desserts, and drinks. HRF will cover some of the cost, so the price per person is only $20, which includes a reserved seat at the game and dinner. For those that are on a tight budget, you can choose to pay at least $10 and HRF will cover the balance. Children under that age of 2 are FREE. Parking is $6 and paid when you arrive.
You can RSVP here.
Come join us as we enjoy a great time of food, fun, and fellowship together!
