This Sunday, July 7, 2019, Pastor Tony will be preaching from Acts 18:1-17. We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.
Here are the songs we will be singing together this Sunday:
Again I Say Rejoice
In Christ Alone
Wonderful Merciful Savior
Jesus We Love You
10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)
This Sunday, we continue our classes on the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. This week, we will look at “Silence & Solitude.”
Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
NEW CITY CATECHISM #26
Question: Are all people, just as they were lost through Adam, saved through Christ??
Answer: No, only those who are elected by God and united to Christ by faith. Nevertheless God in his mercy demonstrates common grace even to those who are not elect, by restraining the effects of sin and enabling works of culture for human well-being.
Scripture Memory Verse: Romans 5:17.
WEEKLY DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES
Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.
10 Things You Should Know about the J-Curve - Like the letter J, Jesus’s life descends through his incarnation and then death, and then upward into his resurrection and exaltation. The "j" curve is the shape of the Christian life.
What Our Search for Belonging Reveals - We belong not to ourselves but to God, and through him, to his people. At long last, our search for true belonging can have a happy ending. In Christ and among his people, we’re fully known and fully loved.
Words That Improve Friendship - God has a bigger agenda for our friendships than we do. These relationships are designed to be workrooms for redemption, not shelters for human happiness.
Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
SUPPORT THE HRF BUILDING FUND
Hampton Roads Fellowship was recently blessed with the opportunity of being gifted a church building for our congregation. Would you help us raise the necessary funds to be able to make this building our new church home?
You can learn more about the HRF Building Fund here.
HRF FAMILY NIGHT - NORFOLK TIDES GAME
Please join us on Friday, August 2nd, at 7:00 PM for HRF Family Night at the Norfolk Tides Baseball Game!
We have reserved the picnic area and will be having an in-game dinner consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, sides, desserts, and drinks. HRF will cover some of the cost, so the price per person is only $20, which includes a reserved seat at the game and dinner. For those that are on a tight budget, you can choose to pay at least $10 and HRF will cover the balance. Children under that age of 2 are FREE. Parking is $6 and paid when you arrive.
You can RSVP here.
Come join us as we enjoy a great time of food, fun, and fellowship together!
