HRF Weekly Update - June 2, 2019

This Sunday, June 2, 2019, Pastor Miguel will be preaching from Galatians 3:23-29. We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.

Here are the songs we will be singing together this Sunday:

  1. In Christ Alone

  2. What A Beautiful Name

  3. I Will Glory In My Redeemer

  4. Yet Not I But Christ In Me

  5. How Majestic

This Sunday, we begin a new class on the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life. This week, we will look at “What are the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life?”.

Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!

Question: Why must the Redeemer be truly human?

Answer: That in human nature he might on our behalf perfectly obey the whole law and suffer the punishment for human sin; and also that he might sympathize with our weaknesses.

Scripture Memory Verse: Hebrews 2:17.

Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.

  1. Three Ways to Purify Your Thinking - The call to purify our minds is one we only begin in this life. But much of our peace in this life, and much of the fruit we bear for God’s glory, comes as we heed the call to “think about these things” — to set our minds on glory above, on beauty below, and on people around.

  2. Peacemaking: A Gospel Necessity - God wants every one of his children to embrace the ministry of peacemaking. This ministry is so crucial because it testifies to the validity of the gospel of Christ. Not only does peacemaking in relationships remind us of the truth of the gospel in our own lives, it also can be evangelistic.

  3. 4 Prayers to Pray when You’re Waiting - The Christian life is full of waiting. Here are four prayers to pray when you are waiting.

Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
