This Sunday, March 17, 2019, Pastor Tony will be preaching from Acts 16:11-15. We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday.

NEW CITY CATECHISM #11
Question: What does God require in the sixth, seventh, and eighth commandments?
Answer: Sixth, that we do not hurt, or hate, or be hostile to our neighbor, but be patient and peaceful, pursuing even our enemies with love. Seventh, that we abstain from sexual immorality and live purely and faithfully, whether in marriage or in single life, avoiding all impure actions, looks, words, thoughts, or desires, and whatever might lead to them. Eighth, that we do not take without permission that which belongs to someone else, nor withhold any good from someone we might benefit.
Scripture Memory Verse: Romans 13:9.
WEEKLY DISCIPLESHIP RESOURCES
Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.
Biblical Principles for Ethnic Harmony - The hope of overcoming racism cannot truly be found in human effort, worldly philosophies, or even civil rights. The gospel, which reconciles God to sinners, must also reconcile sinners to one another.
The Struggling Christian Myth - We love it when people notice how hard we have it, and we try to leverage that attention into authenticity points for opening up about what we’re going through. Let’s exchange the “struggling Christian” myth for the “united to Christ in his death and resurrection” story.
37 Ways to Love One Another - Consider the disciple-making that would naturally take place in the life of a local church if every believer would practice the loving, one-another ministry that the early churches first read about in the instructions they received from the apostles.
Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
NEW HRF INSTITUTE CLASS - GUIDANCE
Last Sunday we began a new HRF Institute Class on "Guidance - Knowing God's Will".
Over the next 3 weeks, we will continue taking a look at what the Bible says about the will of God, how God guides His people, and how we are called to make decisions in all areas of life in light of God's Word.
Please join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall as we continue this class together!
HRF NEW MEMBERS CLASS - APRIL 7
HRF will be hosting a New Members class on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 1 pm - 4 pm. This class is an introduction to our church and the responsibilities of membership. Although it is required in order become a member of HRF, in no way does participating in the class obligate you to join HRF. We also recommend that existing members attend this class once a year as a refresher on what membership involves in the life of HRF. Lunch and childcare will be provided.
HRF MEN'S RETREAT - MAR 21-23
We are excited to announce an opportunity to encourage us all as brothers in Christ together! In 2019, HRF will be hosting a Men's Retreat for the men of HRF.
The theme for the 2019 HRF Men's Retreat will be Honor One Another and should serve as an opportunity for us all to better understand the role we each play in our responsibilities towards loving one another with brotherly affection and outdoing one another in showing honor.
The deadline to register is March 1, 2019, but we ask that you register ASAP for planning purposes. You can register with a $50 deposit now and pay the remaining amount by March 1. If you have any further questions about this event, please contact Ben Slade at (423) 667-8939 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
