HRF Weekly Update - March 25, 2018

This Sunday, March 25, 2018, Pastor Tony will be preaching from Mark 14:32-42.

We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday. Here is a list of the songs we will be singing this Sunday as well.

Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.

  • Hope in This Broken-Down World - No child of God can get by recognizing only his or her identity as sinner. The weight of it will defeat you. But you are more than a sinner: you are also a child of grace. These two identities must be held in a healthy tension and balance.
  • Five Likely Losses From Taking Up Your Cross - Every taking-up-our-cross loss that we endure is worth it. For Christ and for us in him, weakness, suffering, and loss are not the end of the story. They lead to victory, resurrection, and eternal gain.
  • Seeing Christ in the worst Christians - We are all a work in progress, so when we see the failings of other Christians, we can respond in humility by seeing Christ in them.

Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another. You can also view an archive of recommended discipleship resources here.

HRF will be hosting a Membership Matters class on April 8, 2018 from 1pm - 4pm.

This class is an introduction to our church and the responsibilities of membership. Although it is required in order to become a member of HRF, in no way does participating in the class obligate you to join HRF. We also recommend that existing members attend this class once a year as a refresher on what membership involves in the life of HRF. Lunch and childcare will be provided.

Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.
