HRF Weekly Update - January 7, 2018

This Sunday, January 7, 2018, Pastor Miguel will be preaching from Philippians 3:12-16.

We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday. Here is a list of the songs we will be singing this Sunday as well.

Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.

  1. Why You Will Join The Wrong Church - Our relationships will ebb and flow, as will our affection for the church. But the solution is not always looking for a better fit. Instead, we renew our passion and reignite our sense of belonging by holding ourselves to our membership covenant—sacred promises that bind even the “wrong” people together.
  2. He Will Restore Your Soul - We may feel forsaken by God at times. Jesus was forsaken by God, so that we would never be forsaken by God.
  3. Three Ways I Plan To Read The Bible Less In 2018 - Reading the Bible won’t automatically make you more godly, but you won’t grow in godliness without the Word. Here's how you can approach Bible reading in 2018.

Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another. You can also view an archive of recommended discipleship resources here.

We are excited to announce that Fellowship Groups will be resuming again the week of Jan 7, 2018. These groups will run from January through March 2018.

A Fellowship Group is a formal group who commit to meet together regularly for the purpose of living and cultivating gospel community with one another (Acts 2:42-47). They are one of the best ways to experience formal gospel community and an opportunity to help facilitate discipling relationships with other members.

We are excited to announce an opportunity to encourage us women to all press forward towards Christ together! Next year, HRF will be hosting a Women's Retreat for the women of HRF. The theme for the 2018 HRF Women's Retreat will be "Gospel, Safety, Time" and should serve as an opportunity for us all to better understand the role we each play in our responsibilities towards one another and cultivating a healthy gospel culture within our church body.
