HRF Weekly Update - January 14, 2018

This Sunday, January 14, 2018, we will be beginning a new series titled “Gospel Identity - Who Am I?” Pastor Tony will be preaching from Ephesians 2:1-5.

We encourage you to prepare for corporate worship by reading and praying through the text prior to the message on Sunday. Here is a list of the songs we will be singing this Sunday as well.

Here are a few discipleship resources our elders recommend checking out this week.

  1. Something profound in our generation - A nice church filled with nice people doing nice things will make no impact in the intensity of our times. Here are four categories that can fill our churches.
  2. Bourne Identity - What comes to mind when you think about yourself is one of the most important things about you. In particular, what comes to your mind when you think about who you are in Christ is of greater importance.
  3. Making a fresh start with God - Three shifts that can make all the difference with making a fresh start with God.

Please read them and use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another. You can also view an archive of recommended discipleship resources here.

We are excited to announce that Fellowship Groups will be resuming again the week of Jan 7, 2018. These groups will run from January through March 2018.

A Fellowship Group is a formal group who commit to meet together regularly for the purpose of living and cultivating gospel community with one another (Acts 2:42-47). They are one of the best ways to experience formal gospel community and an opportunity to help facilitate discipling relationships with other members.

You can view the Winter 2018 Fellowship Groups available and sign up here.

We are excited to announce an opportunity to encourage us women to all press forward towards Christ together! Next year, HRF will be hosting a Women's Retreat for the women of HRF. The theme for the 2018 HRF Women's Retreat will be "Gospel, Safety, Time" and should serve as an opportunity for us all to better understand the role we each play in our responsibilities towards one another and cultivating a healthy gospel culture within our church body.
